Bad Synopses

Like my Theme Songs feature, this is another one that I really enjoy doing. I hope you enjoy them too!

If you’re unfamiliar with this feature, it’s one where I take (I try to pick) popular books/comic books/graphic novels and describe them in my own words–only I do a pretty bad job of it.

So, let’s dive right in.

*For the record: I love these books, but it’s always fun to poke at things you love.*

Carrie by Stephen King
My Rating: 4.5/5 Stars

A teenager kills 273 people while lighting an entire town on fire–possibly fighting for a room in Xavier’s mansion and a spot among his X-Men. But, Carrie finds out that perhaps becoming the villain isn’t really the best way to get noticed.

Rat Queens by Kurtus J. Wiebe and Roc Upchurch
My Rating: 5/5 Stars

A group of female mercenaries who love beer, getting high, don’t take s**t from anyone, and will kill anything for money struggle internally and externally but remain BFF till the end. It’s impossible not to fall in love with them.

Star Wars, Vol. 1: Skywalker Strikes by Jason Aaron, John Cassady, and Laura Martin
Star Wars, Vol. 2: Showdown on the Smuggler’s Moon by Jason Aaron, Stuart Immomen, and Simone Bianchi
My Rating: 5/5 Stars (for both)

Things are getting cray cray in a galaxy far, far away. Luke, Han, and Leia are getting up to some mischievous (and especially in Luke’s case, incredibly stupid) schemes after destroying the death star. Just how many times has Han Solo been married?

  1. Hahaha I love this!! Especially the Star Wars one. My possibly unpopular opinion – I really don’t like Luke Skywalker, he is such a whinger and thinks he knows more than everyone…but that’s just me. I love this post!

    1. Thank you so much! Glad you enjoyed it! And I actually totally agree with you about Skywalker. I understand the role he plays, but he needs to just calm down half the time, haha 😛
