Hey there all. I missed blogging yesterday due to being exhausted and having a super busy day. There was no way I was going to get a tag out yesterday. I will definitely be coming up with and posting an original tag next Monday!
I also may post a LootCrate unboxing later tonight, depending on how I feel after I nap. (Which will absolutely be happening as soon as I finish this post!)
Anyway, this week’s Top Ten Tuesday, hosted by The Broke and the Bookish, is your interpretation of beach-worthy reads. I’m going to be posting about light, summery reads that are quick, fun, and great for a day lying out in the sun.
This is not really a top 10, but more of just a list of 10. Books are in no particular order. Click each photo for book’s Goodreads page.
Bob’s Burgers, Vol. 1
This is a fun sort of companion comic to the TV show. If you’re a Bob’s Burgers fan, this is a great beach read for you. It’s filled with funny stories that emulate the characters’ personalities.
This is a super fun read and would be perfect to read with a few friends at the beach. However, if you’re going to be there awhile, pack a second book, since you’ll finish this one pretty quick.
This is a great, little graphic memoir perfect for some beach reading. What’s more fun than imagining you’re traveling Europe while sitting on a pretty beach? A nice, light read that will easily fill your time with entertainment.
Another fun, light read that will have you laughing as you half-doze in the sand.
A little more of a melancholy read, but a very interesting one about coming into adolescence and how that changes things. The beach setting may enhance what you take from this graphic novel. (Or it may not. I didn’t read it on a beach, so I’m not really sure.)
There’s lots of fun magical realism in this collection of short stories. Sure, using this tactic often covers some pretty saddening topics, but you will still be laughing along the way. Plus, it’s easy to pick and choose a few short stories in between taking a dip in the water and drying off in the sun.
What book could be better for a lovely summer day than one about a road trip? A grand adventure that’s perfect to get lost on while you’re at the beach.
I mention this book way too much, but, especially now after meeting the author, I’m not sorry. This fast-paced adventure is perfect to relax in the sun with.
Perfect. Perfect. Perfect! beach read. Fast-paced, hilarious, and lovable. Plus, you can easily finish it in a few short (or long if you want to drag out your beach stay) hours.
The Selected Poems of Elizabeth Brewster 1944-1977
If you’re looking to seriously contemplate life while staring at the water, this collection of poetry will help you with that. I especially recommend this collection to women.
Do you agree with this list? What books would you recommend for beach reading? What books made your TTT this week? Feel free to leave your link in the comments for me!
