So, I took another little vacation, which is, sadly, the last one I have planned for awhile since I need a source of income before I can plan another getaway. This one was especially exciting for me, since I got to see a friend I haven’t seen since last January and we got to hang out in Harry Potter World at Universal Studios in Orlando, Florida. It was definitely a weekend filled with adventures. And, like always, I’d like to take a Monday out from books and share a few of those adventures with you all.
It’s always super hard to pick the photos I want to share, but here are some (a lot) of my favorites. Enjoy.
All packed and ready for a great weekend. #alwaystravellight
This was my 4th time visiting this place, and I still get all giddy inside when I get there. I’m really just a kid at heart.
What a beautiful spot to enjoy a butterbeer. You can see Hogwarts back in the right corner there, next to Jurassic Park.
The very first ride we went on was a water ride. To say we got a bit wet would be the understatement of the year. It was worth it though (even if I did have to dry these shorts in our hotel room with a hair dryer because, as I said above, I traveled light and had to rewear these).
London side of Diagon Alley. King’s Cross is just waiting to take me home. But first, have to get some school supplies.
“Welcome to Diagon Alley.” I seriously love it here.
“What’d you expect, pumpkin juice?”
Weasley’s Wizard Weezes. A place to get the real essentials to go back to Hogwarts.
I was tempted to get that little pigmy puff. How adorable. Maybe next time.
Our ride is here.
We made it. And, you know what comes after Hogsmeade.
Yep, there it is. *heart eyes*
Next up: “Welcome to Jurassic Park.” Jurassic Park is one of my favorite movies (and was even on TV a night that we were down there, so Lea agreed to watch it with me – what a great friend) so obviously this is one of my favorite places.
The “Raptor Experience.” It was honestly so cool.
Another one of my favorite places: Springfield. Oh Milhouse, stop it; you flatter me too much.
Paid almost $3 for this Do’hnut just so I could make this reference, “Mmm forbidden donut.” At least I didn’t sell my soul for it.
Met Gru and some minions and also Megatron. I love that they always have people in costumes out and about.
Can’t leave out comic book world. Love the Spiderman ride!
We ended up getting wet again on our last night, which meant that I had to blow dry my clothes again before I could pack them.
After some long days, it was time to put our feet up, eat some pizza, and drink some wine. What can I say, we’re classy.
We also blindly tried Berty Botts Every Flavor Beans, and, I’m not going to lie, I was secretly hoping I would get earwax just so I could make that reference. I’m all about the references.
I had to get up super early for my flight. But, at least I’m repping my new Ravenclaw hat (since I didn’t want to do my hair).
All good things must end. Goodbye Florida. See you soon. Hopefully sooner rather than later.
Believe it or not, Chicago is under all those clouds. What a crazy experience being above them, then in the middle of them, then below them. Home safe from another adventure.
“Hogwarts will always be there to welcome you home.”
As you can see, Universal Studios was seriously made for me. It has all the things I fangirl over most in the world: Harry Potter, Jurassic Park, The Simpsons, Transformers, and Superheroes. What a truly magical place to be. I can’t wait to go back. But, until my next grand adventure, this blog will be returning to bookish posts tomorrow
*Starred photos were taken by or on my lovely friend Lea and her camera.
